Ingredients

For the Donuts:

  • 1 cup blanched almond flour (95g), measured by spooning and leveling
  • ½ cup hemp protein powder (35g), spooned and leveled
  • ⅓ cup cocoa powder (32g), spooned and leveled
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • ¼ cup unsweetened coconut yogurt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

For the Glaze:

  • ⅓ cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil
  • 2 tablespoons almond butter

Instructions

Make the Donuts:

  1. Heat your oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 6-cavity donut pan.
  2. Grab a mixing bowl and whisk together the almond flour, hemp protein, cocoa powder, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the eggs, maple syrup, coconut yogurt, and vanilla to the bowl. Stir everything until you have a smooth, thick batter.
  4. Fill each donut mold almost to the top. A simple trick: spoon the batter into a plastic bag, snip off a corner, and pipe it into the pan for clean, even rings.
  5. Slide the pan into the oven and bake for 18–20 minutes, or until the donuts spring back lightly when touched.
  6. Let them rest in the pan for a few minutes, then move them to a cooling rack. Make sure they cool completely before glazing—popping them in the fridge helps speed things up.

Make the Glaze:

  1. Melt the chocolate chips and coconut oil together, either in short microwave bursts (20–30 seconds each) or over low heat on the stove.
  2. Stir in the almond butter until the mixture becomes smooth and glossy.
  3. Dip the tops of the cooled donuts into the glaze and place them on parchment or a cooling rack.
  4. Chill the glazed donuts in the fridge or freezer until the chocolate firms up. Enjoy!
